Amber Crittenden.
Hi! My name is Amber. I am currently 21 years old and have been dancing at Premiere since I was about 4 years old. I have an associates degree from John Tyler Community College and I am currently enrolled at the University of Richmond where I will obtain a Bachelor’s Degree in Health Studies with a double minor in Dance and Biology. I attended the Appomattox Regional Governor’s School of the Arts and Technology as a dance major for most of my high school career. There I was a member of Interface Dance Company where I traveled to hospitals, memory clinics, schools, and other community events to share my love of dance alongside my company members; in addition, I took master classes from professionals such as Starrene Foster and Paul Taylor Dance Company. I also danced competitively with Premiere’s award winning competition team beginning when I was about 13 or 14 years old where I attended master classes taught by Allison Holker, Meghan Sanett and Kent Boyd. I graduated from Premiere’s Student Teaching Program where I accumulated over 300 teaching hours through assisting and leading classes of all age groups and styles. I am currently a member of the University of Richmond’s Richmond SpinnURS Dance Team where I perform at various sporting events as well as participate in various community events alongside my teammates. I have always viewed dance as my escape from the world and when all else fails, the stage is there to catch me. I am passionate about building strong dancers while cultivating a healthy mindset of self love and confidence.
