Dance Class and Camp Schedule

TAP AND TUMBLE CAMP (ages 2.5-4)

The last day (July 21 – the last 10 minutes of camp) we will perform a dance for our grownups.  

  • Camp Dates: June 17-21 (Mon-Fri)

          Camp Time: 10:30am-11:15am

          Tuition: $75

TEDDY AND ME:   BALLET & TAP (ages 3 -5)

Dancers are invited to bring their favorite teddy bear from home. We will be having a BEAR-y good time as we dance in this teddy bear themed class!

This class will introduce your little one to dance concepts such as space, tempo, sizes, levels, and pathways which will set a strong foundation for their dance education.  The purpose of this class is to introduce the child to the joy of movement, while developing the child’s mind, increasing body awareness, and sharpening motor skills.

TINY TUMBLERS:  ACRO (ages 4-6)   

         Acro dance is a style of dance the combines classical dance technique with precision acrobatic elements. Premiere Dance Academy is an Acrobatic Arts Certified Studio!  This means that the teacher is certified in safety, spotting techniques, and teaching techniques.  Premiere also follows the Acrobatic Arts’ syllabus which focuses on flexibility, balancing, and developing strength to safely progress in learning new skills.

PERFECTLY PINK DANCING DOLL CAMP: LYRICAL, ACRO, AND JAZZ (ages 5-9)

         Pink…it goes with everything! Join us, as we get our sparkle on and step into a doll’s dreamhouse for a magical week of dancing, games, crafts, and FUN!  Come on dancers, let’s go party!      

         The last day (July 12 – the last 10 minutes of camp) we will perform a dance for our grownups.  Dancers should bring their own water and snack to camp each day.

DANCE TEAM PREP- for High Intermediate to Advanced Students –  placement by permission of director

         Whether you are looking to audition for your high school or college dance team – this is the class that will get you prepared!  Ms. Amber was on her colligate Dance Team for 2.5 years.  This class will prepare students for the leaps, turns, and tricks that dance teams are looking for in an audition.  This class will also take dancers through mock audition process. Dancers will also gain experience in learning colligate sidelines and routines and work on the valuable skill set of picking up choreography quickly.

ACRO: WITH A FOCUS ON BACK HANDSPRING SKILLS AND DRILLS, BACK TUCKS, AND BACK LAYOUTS (for Int. to Advanced Students) – placement ONLY by permission of director!  

For those students who can already perform back handsprings, we will concentrate on drills and progressions that will strengthen your technique, increase difficulty, and connect multiple skills together. We will also be exploring additional skills, such as back tucks and back layouts, for those students who are ready. 

For those students who would like to learn a back handspring, this Acro class will have a focus on drills and progressions that lead towards the beginning stages of a back handspring.  *Please note, taking this class will not guarantee that your dancer will be performing back handsprings at the end of the 5 weeks.  Back handsprings can take years to build up to, and students will only be permitted to progress through the skills leading up to a back handspring as the teacher sees that they are ready.  Be prepared for lots of strength building!

ACRO: WITH A FOCUS ON FRONT AND SIDE AERIAL SKILLS AND DRILLS AND CARTWHEEL MOUNTERS (for Int. to Advanced Students)  placement ONLY by permission of director!  

For those students who can already perform front and side aerials, this class is highly recommended, as we will concentrate on drills and progressions that will strengthen your technique, increase difficulty, and connect multiple skills together. We will also be exploring additional cartwheel-based skills, such as cartwheel mounters, for those students who are ready. 

For those students who would like to learn an aerial, this Acro class will have a focus on drills and progressions that lead towards the beginning stages of an aerial.  *Please note, taking this class will not guarantee that your dancer will be performing aerials at the end of the 5 weeks.  Aerials can take years to build up to, and students will only be permitted to progress through the skills leading up to an aerial as the teacher sees that they are ready.

ADULT TAP:

We had so much fun in our adult tap class this past year that we are continuing through the summer!   You don’t need a lot of previous tap knowledge – you just have to be willing to try something new and have FUN!!  (Ms. J. will teach you all of the skills you need!) *Adults don’t have to wear leotards and tights to class – just wear something you can easily move around in….and bring your tap shoes, of course

Premiere Dance Academy’s 2024 Summer Class Policies

  1. Registration for summer classes opens on April 10th. Register via our website:  PremiereDanceAcademy.net
  2. Summer class registration is handled on a first-come, first-serve basis and tuition must be paid in full at the time of registration.
  3. Tuition is Non-refundable. Credit may be extended in the event of a serious illness or injury.  If a student misses a class, they may make that class up in another 2024 summer class.
  4. Methods of Payment:

You can pay by credit card via our parent portal online.

At the front office, we accept cash or checks.  Please make checks payable to:  Premiere Dance Academy, Inc.

Also, you are paying by check, please include the child’s full name on the memo line of the check.

RETURNED CHECK POLOICY:  A $25.00 fee will be charged for any returned checks.

  1. Minimum enrollment with regular class attendance is 4 students per class. If the minimum enrollment is not met, the studio reserves the right to cancel the class.
  2. After the first class and faculty’s observations, new students may be assigned to a different class level.
  3. Premiere Dance Academy, Inc. will not be responsible for personal property or personal injuries.
  4. Students are not permitted to chew gum anywhere in the building.
  5. All students should be prepared to dance when class begins; we suggest arriving 10 minutes prior to class time.
  6. “Parent Observation Day” will be held the last class of the session.
  7. All students are expected to adhere to the required dress code that is listed below. If a student does not dress properly for class, then they will be asked to sit and watch class.

Dress Code for Girls:

Ballet & Tap Combo Classes (Teddy and Me Class and Ballet/Tap for ages 6-9):  Black leotard, pink tights, pink ballet slippers, tan tap shoes, hair should be worn in ponytail or bun.  

Acro (all ages/levels – this includes Tiny Tumblers)- Black leotard, convertible pink tights, barefoot, hair must be pulled back in ponytail.

Hip Hop:  Clothing that you can comfortably move around in (for example: t-shirt and leggings/shorts/yoga pants), tennis shoes, and hair pulled back out of face.

Tap (all ages/levels – the one exception is the adult tap class):  Black leotard, pink tights, black jazz tap shoes, and hair must be pulled back in a ponytail.

Jazz (all ages/levels):  Black leotard, pink tights, black slip-on jazz shoes, and hair must be pulled back in a ponytail.

Ballet/Pointe (all ages/levels):  Black leotard, pink tights, pink ballet slippers, and Pointe Shoes (if teacher gives Permission), hair must be worn in a bun.

Adult Tap- Adults should wear clothing that they can comfortably move around in (for example: t-shirt and leggings/shorts/yoga pants) and black jazz tap shoes.

Perfectly Pink Dancing Doll CAMP:  Black leotard, pink convertible tights (so they can dance barefoot for acro and lyrical), black jazz shoes, and hair should be worn in ponytail or bun.

Contemporary:   Black leotard, pink convertible tights, pirouette/turner shoes, and hair must be pulled back in a ponytail

Dance Team Prep:  must dress in all black, form fitting clothes (as you would at an audition), however, no midriffs showing.  Black tank tops, black shorts, black leggings are all appropriate options.  Dancers will also need jazz shoes.

Dress Code for Boys:

Black shorts, plain white t-shirt, white socks, black ballet slippers (if needed), black tap shoes (if needed), and black jazz shoes (if needed), tennis shoes (hip hop)
